Bastille Day - Vive La France

Bastille Day - Vive La France

The French have never needed much of an excuse to celebrate, but Bastille Day is a particularly good one.

On Tuesday 14 July, Maison Bâtard marks France's national day with three distinct ways to celebrate. Join us for a lunchtime escape featuring French classics and wine for $39, settle in for a special sharing-style dinner of beloved French dishes, or indulge in Le Tour de France, an intimate wine dinner hosted by Loïc Avril in Le Club.

Whichever way you choose to celebrate, expect great food, exceptional French wine and a healthy dose of joie de vivre.

Lunch À La Française

$39 Lunches

A little taste of France, perfectly timed for lunch.

Choose from Le Cheeseburger, Au Poivre Burger, Steak Frites or Chicken Coq au Vin, served alongside a glass of French wine from the Loire Valley or Bordeaux. The perfect excuse to extend your lunch break, French style.

Bastille Day Dinner

$110pp Sharing Style

Gather friends, order a bottle and celebrate over a menu designed for sharing.

Begin with house-baked baguette, Comté gougères, salmon gravlax and hand-cut steak tartare before choosing between a traditional Bouillabaisse brimming with seafood or a rich Duck Cassoulet with Toulouse sausage, white beans and lardons. Throughout the evening, enjoy appearances from our Can-Can dancers, bringing a touch of Parisian cabaret to the celebrations. Finished with Maison Bâtard's signature chocolate mousse, it's a feast worthy of France's national day.

Le Tour De France

Bastille Day Wine Dinner in Le Club

$330pp

Join Maison Bâtard's Head of Wine and resident Frenchman, Loïc Avril, for a guided journey through some of France's most celebrated wine regions.

Accompanied by live music from La Nuit Blanche, the evening begins with Champagne Dumangin Blanc de Blancs and spanner crab tart before travelling through the Loire Valley with Domaine de Bellivière Jasnières Prémices 2023. For the main event, roasted duck rosti is paired with two standout Burgundies from David Duband and Maison Henri Gouges, before concluding with Bravo Apple Tarte Tatin and Château Filhot 2016 from Bordeaux.

An evening of remarkable wines, French hospitality and stories from Loic’s homeland.
